At Avalaunch Media, we are committed to supporting Utah students in their educational pursuits and helping to develop the next generation of leaders and believers here in the Beehive State.
Every year for more than a decade, our agency has launched its annual tradition of supporting education through the Avalaunch Media Scholarship Contest as part of our #AvalaunchGivesBack initiative. This year’s winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship to put toward their marketing education at any Utah-based institution.
Launching People Through Education:
Education is a core element of our mission and purpose to Launch Brands, People, and Purposes every day. Education is a critical component of personal and professional growth, which is why our agency is committed to giving back to our community by fostering educational opportunities wherever we can.
For over 10 years, we have contributed to higher education through charitable donations, our in-house scholarship program, and helping our clients establish their own scholarship programs. #AvalaunchGivesBack has created educational opportunities for individuals at all stages of their careers within our company and in the broader community.
Who is Eligible:
Current, full-time students of accredited two-year or four-year Utah universities or colleges are welcome to apply. While there is no age requirement, all applicants must be enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, or Creative Arts program with an emphasis in marketing.
How to Apply:
Students who fit the eligibility requirements listed above can apply for the scholarship. To enter, applicants must submit an essay (maximum of 500 words) and an accompanying video (less than 2 minutes) responding to the following prompt:
Although some don’t know what it is or if it even exists, the legend of the yeti is a tall tale that inspires us at Avalaunch Media. We chose the yeti as our mascot because, like the yeti, digital marketing can sometimes be difficult to understand or quantify — but just as the yeti legend inspires people, Avalaunch Media is inspired by the challenge of creating believers in digital marketing through measurable results. Our abominable snowman, Eddy the Yeti, stands in our office to symbolize our team of digital marketers who believe — and to inspire us to continue pursuing excellence for our clients.

All candidates must send a link to their video or email their essay to our scholarship committee at email@example.com. In addition, all participants are required to post their submissions on AT LEAST one of their personal social media accounts.
Upload your video to the social media account of your choice. To share Word documents on your account, you can either load the entire document onto a post OR share a link to the document via Google Docs or another similar platform. (If you share the link, make sure you allow “read only” and don’t provide editing privileges.)

We encourage you to share your post(s), as traction is created through likes, shares, and comments. This may be used as one of the determining factors in judging.
Submission to Avalaunch Media Scholarship Committee
Once posted to your social media account, please email us your essay/video at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include:
- Link to post/video
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Your school, major, and graduation date
Deadline for Submission:
The essay submission deadline is June 30th, 2024.
Selection Process and Notification:
The Avalaunch Media Scholarship Committee will review all submissions, and one winner will be chosen prior to the spring semester. Once the winner has been determined, they will be contacted directly by Avalaunch Media in August 2024.
The scholarship funds awarded are to be used for tuition and books only. Once awarded, a check will be written to the recipient’s Utah-based school of choice and credited for academic costs. The scholarship is non-renewable. Recipients are only eligible to receive the scholarship once during their lifetime.
